Our café and box office are open Monday to Saturday 10am to 3pm. The Box Office is closed on bank holidays unless there is a performance. Outside of the times above the building will open 90 minutes before an event.
By Train
Chelmsford Train Station is a short walk from the Theatre. You can look at Greater Anglia to check which trains stop at Chelmsford Station.
By Bus
Chelmsford Bus Station is just around the corner from the Theatre. You can look at First Essex to check which buses stop at the Chelmsford Bus Station.
By Car
The closest parking to the Theatre can be found at Townfield Street car park (open till 11pm Mon to Sat but closes at 6pm on Sun), Coval Lane car park (entrance via Rainsford Lane, open all hours) and Fairfield Road car park, (entrance via Coval Lane, open all hours but there are restrictions in place Mon to Fri before 5pm, Fairfield Road car park is also used extensively by people visiting the city in general and travelling to London on the train so can be very busy at all times).

All Chelmsford City Council car parks are now cashless. You can still pay by card, contactless payment or the MiPermit app.

Monday – Saturday: 10am to 3pm. The Box Office is closed on bank holidays unless there is a performance. Outside of these times the building will open 90 minutes before an event.
Sunday: Closed (open on performance days from 90 minutes before the show).

Enjoy a wide selection of drinks and light bites before, during and after the show. Our café, theatre bar, sweets and ice cream bar and balcony bar offer something for everyone.

Open from 10am to 3pm Monday to Saturday (except bank holidays), along with all your favourites for takeaway or eat in you'll find freshy brewed barista coffee from beans roasted in Writtle by Mac and Me, delicious cakes from Sticky and Sweet Cupcake Co and locally spun treats from Vintage Candy Floss.
Our Bars
Our bars open 90 minutes before a show so come along and enjoy a pre-theatre tipple from our extensive range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
This includes some local Essex heroes like fine distilled spirits from Essex Spirits Co and wine from Essex’s oldest wine makers, New Hall Wine Estate, and from Chelmsford’s very own Radio City Beer Works, try a craft beer in a can.
And of course you can beat those interval queues by pre-ordering before the show.
